Smith & Nephew’s new Allevyn™ Life is a multi-purpose, foam dressing that features a wide border for a secure, human-shaped fit. Allevyn™ Life is ideal for exuding wounds and pressure ulcers. The silicone adhesive border is gentle on the skin. The foam wound dressing consists of five layers: Silicone adhesive, hydro cellular foam, hyper absorbent padding layer, protective layer, and a breathable top film. It is easy to apply and remove, and can be repositioned without loss of adherence. The sacrum dressings can be worn up to 5 days and up to 7 days for other wound locations (depending on the wound and exudate level).
