Smith and Nephew’s Allevyn Ag Gentle Dressing is a soft gel adhesive wound dressing containing silver that helps protect and prevent bacteria from entering or forming in the wound bed. Gentle Borders have the ability to absorb a high amount of exudate from all types of wounds. The border is able to work with wounds such as surgical sites, ulcers, abrasions, light or deep wounds and burn sites. Triple layered construction allows Allevyn to take in a lot of exudate from several types of wounds. The silver contained in the dressing is able to prevent the formation of MRSA and VRE and lasts up to seven days, depending on the wound.
